JavaScript is probably simultaneously the single most used, and most avoided computer language today. The purpose of these User Groups will be to advance knowledge, understanding and use of JavaScript.

Demonstrations should focus on the language and platforms run under the language. It they should not focus on a server-side language or platform that isn't JavaScript. If you're going to demonstrate script.aculo.us, you shouldn't rely on Rails integration. If you are going to demo Microsoft's Ajax libraries, you should not be relying on ASP.Net.
